M25 Dartford Crossing live updates with ‘long delays’ and rush hour chaos after crash
Firefighters cut passengers out of mangled cars as man dies after multi-vehicle collision in early morning smash.
Fire crews are at the scene following a blaze at a ‘factory’ near the M25 and Dartford Crossing. A1306 at Lakeside and Purfleet, has been closed off while emergency services work at the scene this morning.
Crews were called out to the area shortly before 5.15am today. People living close to the scene have been told to keep their windows shut.
Drivers are facing long delays on the M25 and Dartford Crossing after an earlier crash. Two lanes are currently reported as closed by traffic monitoring site INRIX.
It’s affecting the M25 clockwise, including the Dartford Crossing. The traffic is from J31 for the A1306 at Lakeside and Purfleet.
Congestion has built up halfway back to J29 for the A127 at Romford. There are long delays being reported.
Two lanes are currently closed. It comes after a 20-minute hold and a couple of other brief holds, INRIX says.
Essex Police, the East of England Ambulance Service Trust and National Highways have been approached for further information.
