Fire truck crashes into ditch while responding to vehicle rollover
Onslow County, NC — A fire truck fishtailed and crashed into a ditch during heavy wind conditions Sunday afternoon in Onslow County.
Nine Mile Volunteer Fire Department says the incident happened while fire truck 904 was responding to a call for a vehicle rollover on Highway 53 around 4:10 p.m.
The department says the truck was met by another vehicle in the center of the lane while responding to the call. In an attempt to avoid a crash, the firetruck veered to the shoulder of the curve but fishtailed and went into the ditch due to road conditions.
First responders were evaluated at the scene and released.
