Following a collision this afternoon, a major Doncaster route has been closed.
On Thursday, March 9, at 2:00 pm, South Yorkshire Police reported a collision on Barnby Dun’s Stainforth Road. Drivers are advised to stay away from the area.
Drivers are being forced to use different routes. The event occurred after South Yorkshire experienced significant snowfall this Thursday.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for the area, advising people to drive safely in snow. “It is safer not to drive in heavy snow and icy conditions but if you absolutely must drive, keep yourself and others safe,” a meteorologist said.
A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “Stainforth Road in Barnby Dun is currently closed due to a road traffic collision. People are asked to please avoid the area and find alternative routes.”

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “Roads Policing Group officers have launched an appeal for witnesses after a fatal collision in Doncaster today Emergency services were called at 11.39am to Stainforth Road following reports of a collision involving three vehicles.
