A man has died following a car crash in Johnstone.
One car was involved in a collision with a wall at around 2am on Beith Road, in the town. The vehicle caught fire and was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
The Scottish Ambulance Service rushed the 53-year-old man to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, however, he was later pronounced dead.
Beith Road and Linn Brae in Johnstone was closed at around 2am and re-opened at 7.50am on Sunday 13th April, 2025.
Officers are investigating the incident to establish the full circumstances.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2am on Sunday , 13th April, officers attended at a one car crash on Beith Road in Johnstone.
“The Scottish Ambulance Service also attended and a 53-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he was pronounced dead.
“The car caught fire and it was put out by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
“The road was closed and re-opened around 7.50am.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
