
Avon and Somerset Police had closed the A303 eastbound following a ‘serious collision’.

The Westbound was held to allow the emergency service teams to work safely at the scene.
The incident is now clear and the A303 eastbound in Somerset has since fully reopened at around 10pm after closing just after 8pm.
Emergency services including Avon and Somerset Police were in attendance with the National Highways also deployed resources to assist at the scene.
According to the National Highways: South-West, traffic was diverted via local routes.

A spokesperson said: “If this impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time. Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey.”
The Avon and Somerset Police team and the South Western Ambulance Service have been contacted and we are currently awaiting their response for an update on the incident.
