A Winchester woman who was missing when she caused a crash that seriously injured another driver has been sentenced to four years in prison.

Christian Michelle Armstrong, 52, had pleaded guilty to causing seriously bodily injury when driving while intoxicated, a Level 5 felony carrying up to six years in prison.

She was sentenced in recent days by Henry Circuit Court 1 Judge Bob Witham.

A Henry County sheriff’s deputy said that Armstrong — on April 11, 2025 — was driving a Chevrolet Camaro on U.S. 36 near Wilbur Wright Road when

A crash report indicated the other driver, a Hagerstown woman in her 80s, suffered a severe injury to one of her legs that required surgery at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.

The deputy reported Armstrong’s breath had an “odor commonly associated with an alcoholic beverage,” and that a pint of whiskey was found in the pocket of her sweatshirt.
