A murder investigation is underway in Farnborough after a man was found dead in a quiet residential neighbourhood, sending shockwaves through the local community.
Emergency services were called to an address on Oaktree Drive shortly before 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday following reports of concern for a man’s welfare. Upon arrival, police officers discovered the body of a man believed to be in his 40s. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a swift development, Hampshire Police confirmed that two people—a 35-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman—have been arrested on suspicion of murder. Both remain in custody as detectives work to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the death.
The area around the home was immediately cordoned off, with forensic officers and specialist teams seen combing the scene throughout the day. Police have also begun door-to-door inquiries and are reviewing local CCTV footage.
“This is a tragic incident, and our thoughts are with the victim’s loved ones at this very difficult time,” said Detective Inspector Paul Richards, who is leading the investigation. “We are working hard to establish exactly what happened and are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.”

The identity of the deceased has not yet been released, but efforts are ongoing to contact next of kin.
Residents in the area expressed their shock and sadness at the news. “It’s terrifying to think this happened just down the street,” said local resident Amanda Lowe. “Farnborough is usually so peaceful.”
Police are urging anyone who may have seen or heard anything unusual in the area overnight to contact them on 101, quoting reference 234 of April 23.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
